Caveat

Were you paying attention? Good. Because if you were, you would know that while the previous section on method might be a great framework and certainly a good starting place, it does not represent the real world. In fact, it would be the height of arrogance to presume to be able to address every business opportunity, problem or idea effectively with a single method. It would be as if we were saying that the entire business universe can be made to conform to this simple diagram - and that's insane.

The real world is messy. Businesses, like life forms, constantly evolve or they die. Likewise, we expect to be constantly evolving. Our LLC/Partnership model is a framework. As we continue gain information and experience about it, we expect that it may change over the long term. The method described above is a framework. If we look at a solution or idea that will not conform to that framework, it will be treated as an opportunity to evaluate and learn. Our default position is not to discard anything that doesn't fit.

If you hire The M. R. Nelson Group, LLC expecting some Harvard Business Review case study to be implemented in your organization, I can tell you right now that we cannot provide that. We will not provide that. Every situation we encounter, without exception, has been unique. We do not expect that to change.

For people who do hire us, this should be tremendously reassuring. What it means to the brave few able to look truth in the face is that we will never try to shoe-horn your operations into a strategy or process that wasn't designed for your situation. You, your company, and your customers deserve better.
